Two small granite outcrops located a short distance north of Meningie township were evaluated for their dimension stone use potential, as replacement sources of Encounter Bay - type granite similar to that from West Island which was used to construct Parliament House on North Terrace, Adelaide. Preliminary assessment of sledgehammer-spalled samples of the Wright prospect occurrence, after they were cut and polished, shows that they contain coarse pink feldspar phenocrysts which give them a different appearance to stone from existing sources. Further investigations of both outcrops are deemed necessary, so Mineral Claims 3468 and 3470 were pegged on 9 April 2004 over the McLure and Wright prospects respectively.
