Exploration for possible epigenetic Au-Cu-Mo deposits within Palaeoproterozoic metasediments in the surrendered parts of the licence area, which lie just north of MacDonald Hill and are fairly close to MIM's 1997 White Dam Au-Cu discovery, has comprised BLEG soil geochemical sampling and follow-up aircore drilling of anomalies. Gold anomalism found in soil near Duffers Dam, and a coincident magnetic anomaly, were tested in 2000 by two traverses of drilling (47 aircore holes totalling 470.5 m), but the results of drill sample assays were generally disappointing. Further drilling in August 2001 at Duffers prospect (9 holes) and at the adjacent Bulloo South prospect (12 holes) failed to improve on the bedrock prospectivity results, with a maximum single sample value of 320 ppb Au in hole DFR5 not being supported by those of adjacent samples or drillholes.
