Three small areas of outlying shallowly covered basement at the eastern end of the Musgrave Ranges in South Australia, located approximately 130 km north-west of Marla, were taken up by a subsidiary company of Minotaur to explore for possible buried magmatic or epithermal nickel and copper deposits. An assessment of past exploration data, plus the reprocessing and re-interpretation of geophysical data, indicated marginal scope for finding mineralised mafic and ultramafic intrusive bodies belonging to the prospective Giles Complex. A program of scout and infill geochemical sampling of magnetic lag, carried out at 1 km x 1 km and 500 m x 200 m centres respectively, returned minor peak anomalous values for Ni, Co and Cu, but their low tenor was seen as a purely lithological response arising from subcropping mafic dykes of the Alcurra swarm known to occur in the district.
