Exploration for possible Mesoproterozoic iron oxide - associated gold and base metal deposits in an area located approximately 20 km north of Kimba has consisted of a review of past exploration results, the conduct of a Landsat multiband image analysis regolith/landform study to help control future calcrete sampling strategy in situations of transported versus residual sedimentary weathering regimes, and the reprocessing and interpretation of aeromagnetic data. No obvious IOCG targets were identified by this work, and it was decided to surrender the licence.
