Copper mineralisation within rafted Early Adelaidean metasedimentary blocks in the Patawarta Diapir is widespread but thin and discontinuous, being found primarily in ferruginous calcite veins and sometimes in the enveloping siltstones. Some mineralisation is also associated with small basic igneous bodies that have intruded the rim of the diapir, and here mostly occupyies the matrix of nearby diapiric breccia, or is rarely in the igneous bodies themselves. The locality has potential for bulk low-grade copper mining, and may also hold economic gold, bismuth and cobalt credits.
