As part of a continuing search for possible Palaeoproterozoic unconformity and vein-related hydrothermal uranium deposits in the northern Peake and Denison Ranges basement outcrop region, prospective stratigraphic and structural features were mapped and aerial radiometric anomalies were followed up by car-borne spectrometric and ground scintillometric surveys, plus grab sampling and trenching, leading to the diamond drilling of 2 shallow holes totalling 232 feet. The overall results indicate that uranium mineralisation is highly localised, and that it exists in only small quantities.
