Exploration for possible epithermal or hydrothermal gold and base metals mineralisation that may occur within Proterozoic metasediments in an area surrounding Manna Hill township, has been done in concert with related activities being undertaken on another seven contiguous exploration licences forming the Olary Joint Venture Project. This work has included literature research, interpretation of aeromagnetic data, and reconnaissance 1:250k scale geological mapping and soil and rock chip geochemical sampling. A series of thrust structures were identified in the southern part of the subject EL 2191, which are seen to have an intimate relationship with known gold mineralisation in the Wadnaminga Goldfield, and with the intrusion of the Anabama Granite - Cornwell Granite batholith. Inspection of several old workings at the Manna Hill Goldfield did not give encouragement for gold exploration, as the host quartz veins appeared too thin and restricted in size at the surface to suggest the possibility of reef stacking. The majority of Lynas Gold's field work has been carried out on JV project ELs other than EL 2191 during the reporting period, and is held separately in combined datasets that are still confidential to the licensees. However, the results of a Olary area CRCLEME / PIRSA / company regolith geochemical research project partly funded by Lynas Gold have recently been made public.
