Copper-gold exploration undertaken over a small area within the Woomera Prohibited Area, 20 km west of Woomera township, was restricted to carrying out geophysical data interpretation and conceptual modelling for generating drill targets based around two large regional gravity anomalies, which appear to coincide at depth with well-developed sets of magnetic linears. The consequent inferred presence of intrusive dyke bodies and deep-seated faults, which over Hiltaba Event time might possibly have been conducive to the creation of Olympic Dam - type hydrothermal mineralising systems, was unable to be investigated further by planned RAB/RC drilling and downhole sample geochemical analyses, owing to corporate financial difficulties and the failure of negotiations with the Commonwealth Defence Support Centre for timely land access.

Notes: A geological consultant was commissioned by the licensee to retrieve from the Australian Geological Survey Organisation's Canberra archive, to inspect and re-log, certain drill cuttings and core samples obtained in past shallow stratigraphic drilling done by the Commonwealth Government at 14 sites located just to the north of EL 2729. His report on this work, and copies of the BRS original drillhole logs, are appended to the EL 2729 Year 1 annual report. Also appended to this annual report is the Fugro Airborne Surveys contractor's report on the acquisition and processing of regional TEMPEST aerial EM profiles across the central Gawler Craton, being work performed for AGSO [now Geoscience Australia] in June 2000 as part of a joint AGSO/PIRSA/CRCLEME research project. Geographic Locality: Woomera Prohibited Area;Woomera West Instrument Range Doc No: Env 09742 Drillhole: Commonwealth Bureau of Resource Science;Radwaste Project RC and diamond drillholes
