14 lines of grid-based IP and resistivity profiling were carried out at the abandoned Ooloo silver-lead mine by contractor McPhar Geophysics, to try to detect any possible subsurface extensions of the mineralised lodes under alluvial cover. Several poorly resolved IP anomalies were interpreted, suggestive of disseminated mineralisation that is mainly within the subcrop area of a green siltstone host rock. Problems of low resistivity near-surface layers causing a deal of inductive coupling electrical noise are largely masking the mineralisation signal at this prospect, and it was suggested that more electrical survey experimentation would be required to try to improve the results. Being unwilling to commit to further expenditure here, the licensee elected to allow the licence to lapse at its expiry date.
