Exploration for Olympic Dam type or Cloncurry style iron oxide - associated copper-gold deposits, and for Broken Hill / Cannington style stratabound silver-lead-zinc deposits, both possibly formed within buried Palaeoproterozoic basement in an area of deep cover located 140 km north-east of Olary, has consisted only of planning for the acquisition of ground magnetic and gravity surveys across prospective aeromagnetic anomalies, which are thought to originate from similar magnetite/haematite-rich volcanic breccia rocks to those encountered nearby at the recently drilled Dolores East prospect within Platsearch' EL 2579. Due to delays in the execution of the licensee's other regional joint venture mineral exploration work programmes, caused mainly by the unavailability of drilling rigs, and also because of the pressing nature of competing JV work priorities that involve PACE Initiative funding, no field work was done on EL 2999, and it was decided to surrender the tenement.
