An area located between Lakes Acraman and Gairdner was taken up to explore for possible buried iron oxide - associated copper-gold deposits hosted by subcropping basement rocks of the Gawler Range Volcanics (GRV). The licensee had noted a lack of past drillhole data for both the upper and lower GRV sequence in the Lake Acraman region that may have hindered identifying any alteration or brecciation of potential Olympic Dam style. However, some limited evidence of the passage of mineralised hydrothermal fluids, as denoted by mention of traces of sericite - chlorite - haematite - fluorite - barite alteration, had been recorded from earlier shallow drilling (17 exploratory holes with 10 ppb Au. However, an intended programme of follow-up calcrete sampling to firm up geochemical anomalies for later aircore drill testing did not eventuate before a decision was made to surrender the tenement.
