Ground covering a major east-west trending shear zone in the north-eastern portion of the Mount Woods Inlier was taken up by Goldstream Mining to allow an evaluation of its IOCG - style mineralisation potential, possibly for Fe-Cu-Au occurrences of a type similar to that known to exist at Cairn Hill, 60 km to the north-west. However, it transpired that actual exploration activity during the entire tenure period was restricted only to the compilation and re-interpretation of previously obtained geological and geophysical data. One residual gravity anomaly was identified near the western boundary of the licence, but the observed accompanying low magnetic intensity suggests that the basement here does not have the high-grade iron potential of Cairn Hill. Because of the Trumpeter area's inferred low prospectivity ranking relative to areas elsewhere within the Mount Woods JV tenement package, it was decided to surrender the ground.
