Two historically reported isolated occurrences of hydrothermal uranium mineralisation, found within fractured Adelaidean metasediments in the hilly country east of Burra and north of Robertstown, were investigated for their potential to act as sources for possible younger Beverley - type channel uranium deposits within the piedmont sediments deposited to the east, on the edge of the Murray Basin. Office studies of previous exploration data confirmed that there were only the two uranium occurrences on record, with the highest rock chip assay value being 2540 ppm U; the host at the Fairview occurrence was described as hydroxyapatite within dolomitic marble. A field reconnaissance of the Fairview prospect was recently made and 10 further rock chip samples were taken. Four of the samples returned assay values ranging between 0.02% - 0.05% U3O8 from sheared and altered carbonate-rich metasediments, which apparently are also quite enriched in cerium and lanthanum. A hand-held scintillometer survey done to the north and south of the old phosphate workings yielded anomalous radioactivity readings of 300 to 2400 counts per second along 375 m of strike and over widths of from 5 to 30 m. During the 2007-2008 licence year no work was done on the licence, and it was not renewed at the expiry of its first term.
