Evaluation of the perceived Olympic Dam style copper-gold and Stuart Shelf type stratabound copper potential of, respectively, the Proterozoic basement and the Adelaidean cover rocks in an area lying immediately to the west of the Cultana Inlier was restricted to geophysical data modelling and prospectivity reviews aimed at identifying robust drilling targets. A Falcon airborne gravity and magnetic survey, flown in May 2004 over 300 square km covering the Myall Creek copper prospect and the ground extending eastwards to the shore of Spencer Gulf, was funded by Eagle Bay Resources under a heads-of-agreement with contractor Stellar Resources, whereby Stellar undertook to farm-in to EL 3098 by sole-funding the drill testing of any Falcon method - identified targets. This joint venture arrangement was not fulfilled due to ongoing problems with gaining approval for on-ground exploration access to particular parts of the Cultana area, and Eagle Bay Resources was ultimately unable to make further progress with drilling a 400 m deep hole into its preferred target, the Cultana C03 gravity and magnetic anomaly.
