As part of a regional search for possible economic buried Olympic Dam type IOCG-U deposits emplaced along the north-eastern margin of the Gawler Craton, adjacent to the Peake and Denison Inliers, Barrick Gold has acquired infill helicopter-borne ground gravity coverage (2064 stations read at a square grid station spacing of 1500 m) across six of its project tenements, including the four now surrendered, to augment the SA Government's 2007 PACE Initiative - funded, same-scale regional gravity survey of the northern extent of the G2 crustal lineament corridor. Interpretation of all of the newly available gravity data has been encouraging. Several density-anomalous areas have been identified within the basement to the Curdimurka Project area by using a model parameter combination of structural setting, cover thickness, modelled depth, gravity and aeromagnetic response. These anomalous areas will be ranked and assessed against other anomalies identified in the region, and may become the focus of further work within the two remaining project tenements (ELs 3898 and 3918).
