Exploration for possible economic secondary deposits of copper, uranium and gold that might be associated with known iron-rich sediments deposited at or near the base of the Sturtian sedimentary sequence, within an area extending from 60-120 km north of Peterborough, has consisted of the image processing and interpretation of available aeromagnetic and radiometric data, plus a review of previous drillhole data to identify target strata and their geochemical information. Based on this work, it was concluded that uranium is unlikely to be present in economic concentrations in these strata.
