Over the first twelve months tenure of this licence no field-based exploration or collection of new data took place - instead the subject licensee Tasman Resources performed a broad-scale regional prospectivity assessment as part of its overall project management work. In December 2006 Tasman Resources signed a joint venture agreement with WCP Resources, whereby that farminee company would earn up to a 65% interest across all of the Lake Torrens Project licences through conducting exploration of the pre-Neoproterozoic basement to look for possible economic buried IOCG mineralisation. In October-November 2007 WCP Resources acquired a gravity survey on EL 3449 as part of a larger coverage designed to prove up IOCG drilling targets. 49 stations were read on a 1 km x 1 km grid. In early 2008 the new gravity data were geophysically modelled using 3D inversion software, and a few low intensity gravity anomalies were identified: however, the probable source bodies to these were judged as being too deep to provide targets worthy of drill testing.
