Exploration of the outcropping Proterozoic/Cambrian stratigraphic boundary in the Chace Range region of the southern Flinders Ranges, in one licence subarea taken out close to Hawker and another a short distance to the north-east, targeted possible economic sediment-hosted copper sulphide deposits that might form within Wilpena Group sandstones adjacent to long-lived structures, and also Beltana type zinc silicate deposits in the basal Cambrian limestones. A review of past exploration data for the now relinquished parts of the licence identified some minor stream sediment copper anomalism in the vicinity of interpreted faults, but no obvious potential for zinc mineralisation.
