An area located approximately 90 km east-northeast of Marla, which contains a 6 mGal regional gravity high thought to be prospective for iron oxide - associated copper-gold(-uranium) [IOCGU] deposits, was tested for small, high amplitude Olympic Dam style density features that might be present within the existing broad-scale, 7 km spaced gravity data, by conducting detailed gravity survey traverses (223 stations). Five N-S and E-W orientated lines with a nominal station spacing of 500 m, plus a small N-S infill line read at 250 m station spacing, were acquired during April 2008, and a small, 2 mGal feature was delineated within the broader gravity high. However, Eromanga Uranium concluded that while this feature is of interest, its amplitude and geometry within the broader gravity high do not meet IOCGU target criteria. Therefore it elected to exit the joint venture with licensee Intermet Resources. That company belatedly decided in June 2009 to allow tenure to lapse without renewing it for a second year.
