The now relinquished licence sub-block has been explored for possible diamonds, gold and base metal deposits which may have formed in host geological structures that appeared to be associated with deep-seated faults in the Carpentarian basement, which were again made active during the Cambro-Ordovician Delamerian Orogeny. Part of the dataset from an airborne magnetic/radiometric survey that was flown in June-July 2004 ( covering 800 square km, flown at a 100 m north-south line spacing and 60 m sensor flight elevation above surface) was interpreted to select shallow, discrete magnetic anomalies possibly originating from kimberlites similar to the known Angaston kimberlite. Across the whole surveyed area, 50 such anomalies were recognised and were soil sampled for diamond indicators and anomalous geochemistry, but none of these anomalies lie within the relinquished ground.
