During preliminary reconnaissance geological mapping of the Dutton River estuary to assess its uranium potential, a brief ground spectrometer survey recorded radiation levels of up to 0.2% U equivalent from surficial black mud in the river channel near the coastline. No follow up work ensued due to perceived land access hindrances involving Aboriginal heritage avoidance.
