The gypsum potential of an area located adjacent to the Princes Highway at Ashville, lying between Lakes Alexandrina and Albert about 16 km north of Meningie, was investigated in April 2008 using airphoto interpretation and a follow-up ground reconnaissance. No salt lakes were found that are likely to contain gypsum or fine-grained carbonate minerals, and no sediment samples were taken. No other field work had been undertaken by the licensee previously. Accordingly, it was decided to relinquish approximately 16 square km of the exploration licence.
