A group of exploration licences located approximately 130 km north-west of Marree, covering some undrilled ground on the northern edge of the Stuart Shelf, is being investigated for its IOCG-style mineralisation potential. Initially, a compilation of geological and previous exploration data, and the reprocessing of existing geophysical data, did not generate any targets. Consequently, a detailed gravity survey was completed across EL 3650 (152 stations read at 750 m x 750 m grid spacing) in conjunction with PIRSA's 2007 PACE Northern G2 Corridor Gravity Survey. A subset of the resulting gravity data is now released into the public domain.Based on an in-house IOCG model, using signatures for gravity, magnetics, alteration, radiometrics, lithology and structural setting, a number of targets were able to be identified on the Lake Eyre Project tenements. However, no IOCG-style geophysical anomalies were identified on the now relinquished portions of the subject ELs.
