In exploration carried out over an area located 60 km north of the Olympic Dam mine, Adelaidean Wilpena Group metasediments extending northwestwards along strike from gold-anomalous strata previously identified on Tasman Resources' Mulgaria EL 2340 were targeted by the reprocessing and interpretation of aeromagnetic data, seeking possible Mount Olympus / Telfer style structurally controlled, epigenetic gold-silver mineralisation hosted within Neoproterozoic epiclastic rocks. Several low amplitude linear magnetic anomalies having probable near surface sources were selected for mobile metal ion (MMI) soil geochemical sampling coverage and for geological mapping of any alteration features. Favourable geochemical results were returned at five separate sites, three of which have cover of Mesozoic Bulldog Shale sediments. The MMI sampling took place on broadly spaced traverses (3-6 km) with a nominal 100 m sampling interval. Negotiations for gaining approved land access to further infill the surface geochemical coverage and to conduct an early drilling assessment of the buried Adelaidean palaeosurface are presently underway.
