Exploration being carried out in two subareas located at and extending south-east from Streaky Bay township is addressing the potential for finding possible buried iron oxide - associated copper-gold(-uranium) mineral deposits hosted within inferred subcropping outliers of Mesoproterozoic Gawler Range Volcanics or Hiltaba Suite intrusive rocks that overlie older Palaeoproterozoic crystalline basement. Work carried out on these now relinquished portions of the tenement was limited to two ground gravity surveys (130 and 59 stations read respectively) and a ~20 line km ground magnetic survey. One gravity survey and the magnetic survey were conducted in 2006 for Southern Gold Ltd, and the other gravity survey was conducted in 2008 for Southern Uranium Ltd. The raw data for these geophysical surveys are now being made public.
