Investigations by Urangesellschaft of previously recorded aerial radiometric anomalies above sedimentary cover in the vicinity of outcropping granite at Carapee Hill, which body contains sporadic low grade uranium mineralisation, have included regional and detailed ground scintillometer traverses, soil and rock chip sampling plus costeaning and geochemical sampling of 4 trenches over one radiometric anomaly in the north-east of the licence area, petrological examination of outcrop and trench samples, and percussion drilling and geophysical logging of 8 exploratory holes totalling 972 feet, and of 2 water bores totalling 419 feet. None of the intended subsurface targets (Tertiary sediments and Precambrian granites) showed any uranium mineralisation of economic significance.
