Exploration for possible epigenetic or stratabound uranium deposits conducted over a wide area of the Cleve Uplands has consisted of acquiring an airborne radioactivity survey with ground radiometric survey follow-up, plus the drilling and geophysical logging of 9 rotary percussion holes totalling 2845 feet. Although both disseminated vein-type primary and Fe oxide hosted secondary uranium mineralisation was seen at many localities, no significant occurrences were found. The most uraniferous bedrock was seen at the lowest level within the abandoned Calcookra mine (in one only sample, returning 7000 ppm U, 1200 ppm Th and 2000 ppm V).
