In a search for possible concealed stratiform base metal deposits associated with haematitic jaspilites and quartzites in the Cleve Uplands area, extensive rock chip, float and residual soil sampling traverses were followed by geochemical sampling of weathered bedrock via 220 shallow RAB and auger drillholes, average depth 9.2 m. Resulting geochemical anomalies were gridded, mapped in detail at 1:10,000 scale, and selectively profiled using magnetometer plus limited EM and IP methods, before 4 vertical rotary percussion holes totalling 434 m were drilled on geophysical anomalies. Although elevated base metal values were returned for some outcrop and drill samples, economic mineralisation was not found.
