An area located 30 km west of Lyndhurst was taken up to explore for possible hydrothermal / metasomatic copper deposits, including haematite-rich IOCG type deposits, associated with Neoproterozoic or younger diapiric intrusions emplaced into folded and fractured Neoproterozoic metasediments of the Adelaide Fold Belt. Work which was planned to be done by the licensee following its scheduled initial listing on the Australian Stock Exchange involved ground gravity surveying and mobile metal ion geochemical surveys, with subsequent follow-up drilling. However, due to the Global Financial Crisis the public share offer and ASX listing of Salisbury Resources did not eventuate, no field work took place because of the inability to attract a joint venture partner, and tenure lapsed when the company failed to re-apply for a second licence term within the timeframe specified by Section 30A of the Mining Act 1971.
