In a search for possible economic buried IOCG type mineralisation within inferred Proterozoic basement, a new regional gravity survey incorporating the subject EL 3890 Primrose Hill and Minotaur's adjacent EL 3944 Sunny Creek was undertaken in July 2007 by contractor Atlas Geophysics. In all 1004 new gravity stations were read at 500 m x 500 m grid spacing, this survey being conducted as an extension to PIRSA's 2007 PACE Northern G2 Corridor Gravity Survey. Of the total gravity stations acquired, 190 were located within the boundaries of the relinquished area of EL 3890. Interpretation of the new regional gravity data did not identify any gravity anomalies of interest within the relinquished area. In general, on these licences the modelled depths to local gravity sources are deep, and the presence of an overlying artesian Mesozoic aquifer makes the area difficult and expensive to explore.
