An area located approximately 10 km north of Glendambo has been explored for possible economic buried uranium deposits which might be indicated by aerial radiometric anomalies associated with playa lakes in the region, since these latter mark zones of surface leakage and evaporative interaction with moving groundwaters which are passing through the potentially uraniferous Tertiary sand aquifers of the Kingoonya Palaeochannel system. The types of uranium mineralisation sought included Tertiary sedimentary, Jurassic-Mesoproterozoic unconformity - related, and Mesoproterozoic volcanic breccia style IOCG-U deposits in the central Cawler Craton cover and basement rocks respectively. After conducting an orientation field inspection of the anomalous salt lakes in May 2007, new entrant licensee UraniumSA contracted GPX Airborne to fly a reconnaissance aerial EM survey across the palaeochannel floodplains (~160 line km of heliborne REPTEM at an average flight line spacing of 2 km, with a 30 m sensor elevation above the ground surface). This work formed part of a regional AEM coverage encompassing four contiguous UraniumSA ELs, aimed at gathering data for mapping the vertical and lateral extents of palaeochannel features. Over the northern portion of EL 3373, where the potential for finding unconformity - related uranium mineralisation was believed to be greatest, an infill gravity survey was acquired along 9 lines during November 2007 by Haines Surveys (294 stations @ 2 km x 4 km irregular line spacing, with stations read at 400 m intervals along the lines) to help define the depth position of the unconformity at the base of the Jurassic Algebuckina Sandstone. During February 2008, UraniumSA completed a preliminary rotary mud drilling programme (6 vertical holes for a total penetration of 136 m) designed to validate the AEM interpretation of boundaries within the Kingoonya Palaeodrainage system on the southern half of EL 3373, and to establish the nature of the local palaeochannel strata. A single bottomhole drill cuttings sample, generally representing the bedrock to a palaeochannel, was collected from each drillhole for possible future assaying. Downhole wireline geophysical logs (gamma ray, point resistivity & spontaneous potential) were run in each drillhole. No further work was carried out on the subject licence during years 4 through 5, because in late 2008 the Australian Defence Force as owners of the RAAF Woomera Test Facility suddenly denied ongoing access by mineral explorers to a restricted zone within the Woomera Prohibited Area which included all of EL 3373. When this unforseen issue of gaining exploration access onto Commonwealth-administered land remained unresolved as of December 2009 despite South Australian State Government mediation, UraniumSA then made a decision to surrender tenure.
