A small (11 square km) area located approximately 40 km south of Kimba has been explored for possible economic uranium, gold or base metal deposits, including Menninnie Dam style lead-zinc-silver mineralisation, that may have formed in Archaean to Proterozoic basement rocks. Following the conduct of a review of existing geological, geophysical and geochemical data, the first field work undertaken was a low level aeromagnetic/radiometric survey of 1934 line km flown over both EL 3498 and the licensee's Cockabidnie EL 3609 adjoining to the south, acquired by UTS Geophysics during February 2007. The actual coverage within the subject licence was 246.5 line km, at 100 m east-west line spacing and with a sensor elevation of 50 m above ground. The airborne data was processed by Cowan Geodata Services to generate a variety of images and vector maps of maximum gradient. A regional calcrete sampling programme was conducted covering most of the licence on a 500 m spaced grid (82 samples). Assaying for pathfinder elements did not return any anomalous values above background. During 2008 Lincoln Minerals performed re-assaying of stored bottom-of-hole RAB samples taken from CRA drillholes completed in the Campoona Syncline area in 1981. The basement rock chemistry results thereby revealed included anomalous nickel and cobalt values of up to 0.16% Ni and 0.02% Co. During August-September 2009, Bell Geospace was contracted by Centrex Metals to perform an airborne full tensor gravity survey across EL 3498 as well as over parts of ELs 3609 and 3884. A detailed interpretation of the new gravity and magnetic data led to the decision to allow tenure of EL 3498 to lapse.

Notes: The full results of work mentioned in the brief annual reports for the subject licence are given in the annual reports for EL 3609. Within this latter licence area Lincoln Minerals made a significant discovery of lateritic nickel-cobalt mineralisation late in 2007, and consequently the majority of new work done since then has been concentrated there. Geographic Locality: East-central Eyre Peninsula;Cockabidnie North;Campoona Syncline;2007 Cockabidnie and Mount Hill Aerial Magnetic Survey;2007 Cockabidnie and Mount Hill Aerial Radioactivity Survey;2007 Cockabidnie and Mount Hill Aerial DTM Survey;2009 Ash and Walnut Aerial Gravity Gradiometer Survey [part] Doc No: Env 11330
