3-D computer modelling of available drillhole data for coal seams present within the licence was undertaken as preparation for a possible mining feasibility study, and to identify targets for possible future drilling. The known full coal-bearing Arckaringa sedimentary sequence seen in the Weedina area was correlated elsewhere across zones of sparse drillhole coverage via interpolated depths and thicknesses, in order to generate the model. Stratigraphic pinchouts and merging of coal seams were noted near the basin margin in the west. No exploration field work was performed in the now relinquished area, which has been selected by reason of its perceived diminished prospectivity for coal.
