When exploring for nickel sulphide mineralisation within buried ultramafic rocks of the Archaean Lake Harris Greenstone Belt, over TEMPEST aerial EM anomalies lying ~16 km north-west of Yerda Outstation, Mithril Resources carried out a ground EM survey during December 2005 - January 2006 that consisted of 371 moving-loop stations read along 12 N-S lines, utilising 50 m station intervals and a 100 m loop. A single small, steeply dipping and highly conductive late-time EM response was delineated near Hopeful Hill, but a subsequent soil sampling programme across the surface regolith did not provide sufficient encouragement to Mithril for carrying out drill testing. Toro Energy, in a quest for sedimentary uranium mineralisation within Tertiary palaeochannels, flew an airborne TEMPEST EM survey in July-August 2006 that covered 197 line km of 1 km spaced E-W lines within EL 3107 as part of a broader regional survey. No palaeochannels or late-time basement conductors were identified within the relinquished portion of the tenement. Minotaur Exploration, while searching for epigenetic vein-type gold and metasomatic IOCG-style mineralisation, carried out a gravity survey at 1 km x 1 km infilled to 500 m x 500 m station spacing during August 2005, followed by the drilling of three RAB/aircore holes on the strong EM anomaly at Hopeful Hill in August 2006, and the conduct of a biogeochemical survey during late 2009. No significant mineralisation was encountered in the weathered and fresh basalt that was drilled, and the four biogeochemical traverses sampled above interpreted structural features in the relinquished portion of the tenement returned very low gold values.
