Exploration for uranium and diamonds was conducted on an area located approximately 100 km north-east of Coober Pedy; the work was planned and executed mostly in conjunction with similar programmes that were underway on the other nearby project licences EL 4377 (3250) and EL 3505. During 2007 a 587 line km subset of an airborne EM and magnetic survey data was acquired at 500 m line spacing over the tenement area. Interpretation of these data identified one potential kimberlite magnetic anomaly target, and also a conductive EM anomaly arising within cover sediments which could represent a possible redox boundary, and therefore have potential to be a depositional site for uranium mineralisation. As a preparation for planned rotary mud exploratory drilling of these geophysical anomalies, Aboriginal Heritage surveys were conducted at proposed drill sites, but later the drilling programme was cancelled when a hydrological assessment identified an unacceptable risk of causing groundwater flows to the surface from any penetration of inferred underlying, pressurised Great Artesian Basin or older aquifers. A review of available geophysical data found no evidence to indicate any potential for the project area to contain an iron-oxide associated copper-gold deposit.
