An area located approximately 30 km north of Glendambo was explored primarily for possible sedimentary uranium deposits formed in buried Tertiary palaeochannels, as well as for possible Proterozoic IOCG-U deposits of Olympic Dam type, and for Proterozoic unconformity-related uranium deposits of Athabasca Basin style. During May 2007, a reconnaissance airborne EM survey was flown over the entire licence by contractor GPX Airborne, along east-west lines spaced 2 km apart, for a total coverage of 285 line km, to map conductivity anomalies associated with saline groundwater that could be used to define palaeochannel sediments. During July 2007, the joint venturers carried out preliminary vertical aircore drilling (9 holes for a total penetration of 685 m) intended to help confirm the positions of palaeochannel boundaries and to disclose the nature of the Tertiary strata infilling the channels. During May-June 2008, a further campaign of rotary mud drilling was performed (17 holes for 719 m) with the same objectives as previously. In addition, downhole wireline geophysical logs were run in these latter drillholes to explore for possible signs of uranium mineralisation. During the last 18 months of tenure, no other field work was done owing to denial of land access for mineral exploration onto the subject portion of the Woomera Prohibited Area. After lengthy but unsuccessful discussions had ensued between the SA Government and the Commonwealth Department of Defence, aiming to resolve the impasse, the licensees decided not to renew tenure for a fifth year.
