An area centred approximately 200 km north-west of Ceduna was taken up initially to explore for possible buried nickel mineralisation, and subsequently was farmed out to companies interested in assessing its base/precious metal and sedimentary uranium potential. The only new work which took place on the subject tenement during the reporting period was the acquisition of 25 Hz TEMPEST aerial electromagnetic and magnetic data by joint venturer Uranium Equities, as part of a project-wide, 2162 line km coverage flown during May 2007 along 1 km spaced east-west lines at a nominal flight elevation of 120 m. Inversion modelling of the EM data delineated part of a large basal Tertiary palaeodrainage system present beneath the Nullarbor Limestone, which from evidence gained by Iluka Resources on the adjoining EL 3323 appears to be geochemically anomalous in uranium, based on recently reported assay results from drillhole cuttings samples and groundwater samples. A drilling programme targeting sedimentary uranium, to test areas of palaeochannel constriction (possible reductant traps for roll-front style sedimentary uranium deposits) and where tributaries converge, has been recommended.
