The subject licence, located approximately 55 km north-west of Leigh Creek, forms part of a much larger tenement package currently being explored by Perilya, primarily looking for zinc silicate mineralisation similar to the Beltana deposit, although the area is also regarded as quite prospective for lead-zinc sulphide and copper mineralization. No field work has been done within the now relinquished portion of EL 3193, due mainly to the deep overburden which covers the majority of the licence and would greatly hamper bedrock sampling. Although the prospective Cambrian - Proterozoic contact is interpreted to trend across the tenement, drilling is the only method available to effectively explore, but this approach is considered cost-prohibitive. Perilya thinks that current budgets can be better utilized in areas along strike to the south, where more traditional prospecting and geochemical tools can be used to generate drilling targets. The southernmost portion of the tenement will be retained, given its proximity to known exposures of the Cambrian - Proterozoic contact on EL4211 to the south.
