In a search for possible buried economic stratiform copper oxide or copper carbonate deposits thought to be associated with poorly exposed fault structures and related hydrothermal alteration of Adelaidean bedrock in the Burra district, the current licensee undertook a review of previous exploration, inspected the local geological features in the vicinity of the abandoned historic Burra West mine, and performed a soil geochemical reconnaissance survey across the licence area using a portable hand-held Niton XRF analyzer (2065 samples scanned). Within the now relinquished portion of EL 3604, 187 soil samples were tested for a wide range of elements. Only 13 sample sites registered detectable copper in the surface soil (at a chosen detection threshold of > 300 ppm Cu).
