The licensee targeted reef and alluvial tin in the vicinity of the South Lake cassiterite workings. Auger drilling and trenching carried out on the bed of South Lake revealed thicker sediments in only one hole, but otherwise struck bedrock at shallow depths in most places. Minor tin accumulations are confined to a veneer on the lake surface, apparently washed from an area of workings to the south. Auger holes put down through sand cover and in creek beds adjacent to South Lake disclosed no significant development of potentially tin-bearing sediments.
