Exploration for possible economic IOCGU mineralisation formed within buried Mesoproterozoic basement, and for sandstone hosted or roll front style uranium deposits formed within Mesozoic to Cainozoic sediments, which was carried out over an area located approximately 60 km north-east of Andamooka, has consisted mainly of the acquisition and interpretation of a ground-based gravity survey in order to identify potential drilling targets. 1271 gravity stations were read at 100m to 800 m spacings over the eastern half of the licence during June 2008, seeking to delineate an inferred palaeochannel, but interpretation and modelling of the new gravity data, along with the reprocessing of available State Government gravity data, failed to produce any compelling targets. A short field reconnaissance by company geologists also carried out in June 2008 included visits to four sites where the relationships between weathered and bleached Cretaceous Bulldog Shale and an overlying chert layer could be observed on the exposed, eroded margins of mesas. Elevated hand-held scintillometer readings of 150-450 counts per second were obtained from the chert close to the Bulldog Shale contact. Two samples, one of each rock type, were collected at the sites where the radioactivity occurs. During the second licence year a desktop study attempted to identify coincident magnetic and gravity anomalies which could denote IOCG type targets. Nothing of interest was disclosed.
