A small licence area located immediately east of Elliston was taken up principally to explore the wholly concealed basement for possible Archaean intrusive-related nickel mineralisation associated with deep-seated faulting along the Polda Basin margin, and breccia hosted zinc mineralisation similar to that discovered at the Malache Prospect on Lynch Mining's nearby EL 4537. Some potential was envisaged for finding tantalum mineralisation associated with any nickel-bearing ultramafic (carbonatitic) intrusions. No field work took place on EL 3822 during the entire period of its tenure. Exploration consisted only of a continuing review of existing geophysical and drillhole data, in order to define targets for future delineation via ground magnetic surveying and calcrete sampling. Estimates made of the depth to basement indicated that a shallow, 20 - 100 m deep basement ridge extends over a significant portion of the central part of the tenement, and this feature is probably amenable to investigation by calcrete geochemical sampling. A detailed evaluation was made by Lynch Mining of existing and newly acquired multi-licence aeromagnetic data, to assist with the local geological interpretation. This evaluation resulted in a downgrading of the tenement's prospectivity and the eventual decision to surrender tenure.
