An area centred approximately 80 km west of Port Augusta was taken up to explore for possible buried economic IOCG style epithermal/hydrothermal mineralisation that may have formed within Mesoproterozoic basement rocks of the south-eastern Gawler Ranges Volcanic Province. A review by Minotaur Exploration of available geological and geophysical data was followed by the company merging the PIRSA gravity data over the tenement area with proximal Minotaur gravity data sets. Processing of the merged gravity data further facilitated assessment of the area for IOCG targets. No gravity features of sufficient tenor were highlighted by processing the gravity data, and as a result no field work was undertaken on EL 3592. The lack of perceived potential for finding IOCG deposits led to a decision by Minotaur to farm-out mineral exploration on the tenement. On 28/11/2007 Trafford Resources entered a joint venture agreement with Minotaur Operations to explore for potential IOCG deposits across five tenements within the southern Gawler Ranges, including EL 3592. However, apart from making some brief orientation field visits to the subject licence area to inspect readily accessible basement outcrops, Trafford did not conduct any exploration there during the next three years that was worth reporting. Instead, the company concentrated its efforts on the JV project's Wilcherry Hill EL 4162, where a mineable direct shipping ore resource of skarn magnetite was being established through exploratory and appraisal drilling. Due to a lack of uncommitted technical resources that would allow it to effectively explore on EL 3592, Trafford chose on 7/12/2010 to withdraw from the joint venture with Minotaur. Shortly afterwards, Minotaur decided to surrender tenure.
