Exploration for copper mineralisation within a now relinquished licence portion centred 21 km east of Spalding was aimed at finding deposits of oxide and carbonate ores similar to those mined historically at Burra and Kapunda. Work performed was the collection of onsite portable XRF analyses of 1266 soil samples, and the making of a bedrock solid geology interpretation, generated from available and reprocessed geophysical data. It was decided, on the basis of this work, to relinquish the least prospective eastern one-third of the tenement.
