Exploration for copper mineralisation within a small licence area surrounding Mount Tinline, located approximately 20 km south of Spalding ,was aimed principally at finding deposits of oxide and carbonate ores similar to those mined historically at Burra and Kapunda. The tenement was considered prospective for gold and copper mineralisation related to Cambro-Ordovician sediments and late stage felsic and mafic intrusive rocks, that might occur either as porphyry style, skarn replacement, or structurally controlled ores. Previously identified targets that licensee Phoenix Copper considered to have been insufficiently tested lay on the projected southern extensions of the fault-bounded margins of the Willouran aged Spalding Inlier, where minor historic abandoned copper workings appear to be spatially related to both the inlier and the rocks of the Skillogalee Dolomite near its margins. Work performed within EL 4362 comprised the making of a bedrock solid geology interpretation, generated from available and reprocessed geophysical data, and the collection of 453 onsite portable XRF analyses of soil samples. It was decided, on the basis of results obtained this work, to fully surrender all of the tenement.
