A small licence area consisting of three separate portions, located approximately 30 km west-southwest of Whyalla, has been explored for possible economic, basement granitoid intrusion - related buried IOCG and vein style uranium mineralisation, as part of a regional search being conducted on a number of adjoining north-eastern Eyre Peninsula exploration licences held under Southern Uranium's direct ownership or subject to joint venture arrangements. The only work performed on EL 4316 was the collection of a subset of regional soil geochemical samples, done on a 1 km x 1 km grid during licence Year 1, involving 22 samples. No other work took place during Years 2 and 3, following consideration of the geochemical results in conjunction with interpreting local aeromagnetic data. Planned infill soil sampling at 500 m/250 m centres, which could have led to reconnaissance aircore drilling, did not eventuate before tenure was surrendered.
