A small licence area located approximately 30 km north-east of the exposed edge of outcrops of Mount Painter Inlier radiogenic basement rocks at Moolawatana has been explored for possible buried Tertiary sedimentary uranium mineralisation. Buried strata equivalent to the upper Namba Formation (the host unit of the Beverley uranium deposit), that lie in the vicinity of an interpreted subsurface extension to the Paralana Fault, were regarded as prospective for sandstone-hosted uranium deposits genetically related to this fault and the nearby Proterozoic basement rocks. Part of a regional airborne EM survey was flown during November 2007 over the subject licence area, aiming to map the basement topography and structures. 11 line km were flown along north-south lines spaced 500 m apart. The resulting EM data was reviewed to try to define drill targets worth testing, but a lack of obvious conductive anomalies meant that any drilling would only occur if other drilling by Red Metal on its adjacent tenements to the east and south proved successful. Eventually the company decided to allow tenure of EL 3943 to lapse at the expiry of its first term, because of perceived low exploration potential.
