Exploration for possible economic buried gold and/or copper mineralisation that may have formed in a volcanic or porphyry- related setting, within an area of the Adelaide Geosyncline situated 130-140 km north-northeast of Adelaide, has comprised the reprocessing and interpretation of available geophysical data, and then making reconnaissance visits to inspect inferred extensions to the target Skillogalee Dolomite and Rhynie Sandstone (copper) and Tarcowie Siltstone-Cox Sandstone (gold) potential host units in structurally favourable loci. This was followed by selective soil geochemical sampling (3973 samples tested via portable XRF assaying), and the taking of 288 ground scintillometer readings. No obvious traces of copper mineralisation or any gold were found, and no significant surface trace element geochemical or radioactivity anomalies were detected. Consequently, the prospectivity of the subject tenements was downgraded, leading to their surrender.
