A search for possible economic sandstone-hosted uranium mineralisation formed within Tertiary sediments and perhaps also the underlying Mesozoic strata in the Lake Coonee area, located in the Strzelecki Desert 140 km north-west of Broken Hill, has proceeded using geophysical methods to locate buried palaeochannel sediments. Within the now fully relinquished northern block (Area A) of the subject licence, part of a 1700 station regional ground gravity survey was conducted by helicopter-borne methods during June 2009, with stations read on a 500 m x 500 m grid. Several anomalies of interest were defined, which may represent basement features as well as younger palaeochannel fill. However, Marmota has subsequently concluded that the relinquished area has less prospectivity for uranium than the retained Area B block of EL 4252. The relevant gravity data is herewith released to open file.
