As part of a search for possible buried economic Tertiary sedimentary uranium deposits within an area located immediately south-east of Lake Frome, work has included the conduct of part of a multi-licence helicopter-borne REPTEM survey at 500 m flight line spacing in November 2007, to map covered basement topography and to define Tertiary palaeochannel sediments, plus the subsequent drilling and geophysical logging during November 2009 of four vertical rotary mud exploratory holes with a total penetration of 360 m. Red Metal was attracted to take up the ground after it noted the presence of a string of linear salt lakes arrayed parallel to the western margin of the buried Palaeozoic Benagerie Ridge structural high. The Goulds Dam roll-front uranium deposit is located in the Billeroo Palaeochannel a short distance to the west of the subject tenement. A number of small peripheral portions of EL 4614 have now been relinquished because of their perceived diminished exploration potential. Basic geophysical and drillhole information acquired by the licensee on these licence portions is herewith released to open file.
